The Wilfong Edge-Forge Protocol treats limited or lost connectivity as the normal operating state. Edge nodes continue full local operations and AI inference without interruption, then synchronize efficiently when the link returns.

Unified Data + ONNX Model Sync

One lightweight protocol handles both operational data and ONNX AI models. The same delta-sync mechanism keeps records and models consistent across disconnected edge nodes and the hub.

Safe Model Activation

New ONNX models are validated (checksum and load test) on the edge node before they become active. If validation fails, the previous model remains in use.

Outbound-Only Zero-Trust Design

ONNX Model Lifecycle

ONNX models are managed as versioned artifacts within the Wilfong Edge-Forge Protocol. The hub publishes new or updated models using the same change-flagging and delta-sync mechanism as operational data. On the edge node, each model is validated before activation. While disconnected, the node continues inference with the active model and queues results. When the link is restored, results and newer models synchronize efficiently.
